$400 Luxury yacht
We begin the adventure by picking you up directly at your hotel in Puerto Ayora to embark on a journey of approximately 45 minutes to the Itabaca channel, where the yacht awaits us that will take us on an unforgettable experience driven by our expert staff.
We will board the yacht and sail for approximately 45 minutes until we reach the island where upon disembarking you will be able to see seabirds flying over it in its surroundings. Especially the frigate birds with their red breasts.
Starting the tour, you will be able to observe several yellow land iguanas resting under the bushes. Following the path you will come across male frigatebirds perched on bushes that are easily visible for having their inflated red chest. This island has the largest population of this species among all the islands.
Here you will find blue-footed boobies everywhere throughout the year, however their mating season is usually from June to August, which is the best time to see the famous courtship dance.
Along the way you will be able to observe sea lions, this island has one of the largest colonies of this particular species on the islands!
We will return to the yacht to put on our swimsuits. The captain will look for the best place to do the snorkeling activity. Here you can see reef sharks, sea turtles and schools of fish.
Swimming in Seymour is quite an experience, this site is one of the main diving sites on the islands as it enjoys abundant marine life including hammerheads and Galapagos sharks.
After an entertaining excursion, we will return to the boat to sail to our next destination, which is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away. During the navigation, the chef on board will demonstrate her culinary art to delight you with an exquisite lunch while we contemplate the natural beauty of our surroundings.
We will disembark on the Plaza Sur island on the tour, you will be able to observe several yellow land iguanas and marine iguanas walking through the cacti or on rocks.
Depending on the time of year, the vegetation changes, in the rainy season it is an intense green color and in the dry season it changes to a reddish orange color.
Along the way you can find several lava lizards resting on the reddish vegetation and the famous hybrid iguanas. Hybridization is generally considered negative, as it reduces a species’ gene pool and therefore its biodiversity, increasing the risk of extinction; However, the discovery of the hybrid iguana in the Galapagos has put experts in a confusing position. The hybrid iguana in the Galapagos is the result of a perfectly natural process that was not caused by human interference, and has resulted in a new and extremely rare species.
Here you can find many birds, including swallow-tailed gulls that build their nests in the island’s cacti to protect their young from terrestrial predators. This unique behavior shows the birds’ adaptability to their island environment. Around 2:45 p.m. we will return to the Itabaca channel to head to Puerto Ayora.
