We will meet us at Gus Angermeyer port (skateboard court) here a crew member will be waiting you at the counter that will be informed 1 day before tour to get the boarding ticket for the ferry.Â
07:00
The boarding process is a bit delayed because there are passengers who have ferry transfers at the same time as the tour. For this reason, it is important to arrive at the indicated time. We will transfer to Puerto Villamil by 7:00 a.m. at the latest (approximately 2 hours).
09:00
Once we arrive at the port, we will disembark the ferry via water taxi. Once at the port, you must go through immigration control where you will pay an entry fee of USD 10 per person.
--:--
After paying your entrance fee to the island, you must proceed to the dock exit. There, a member of our staff will be waiting to give you tour instructions and introduce you to your naturalist guide.
09:30
Once we’ve gathered the entire group, we’ll head to the eco-tourism pier to take the boat that will take us to Tintoreras Islet.
09:45
The tour begins with a coastal navigation around the islet to observe seabirds and its rock formations.
--:--
Around the islet, you can observe the islands’ iconic penguins, endemic to the islands. You can also spot other birds such as pelicans, blue-footed boobies, and frigate birds.
--:--
Next, we will disembark on the islet. We suggest wearing covered shoes as the trail has sharp rocks.
--:--
The islet is home to one of the largest colonies of marine iguanas, where you can observe enormous specimens.
--:--
Following the trail we will reach its main attraction, a long crevice where you can observe marine fauna.
--:--
In this crevice you can see whitetip sharks, known locally as tintoreras, that rest for almost the entire day, hence the islet’s name.
10:45
We’ll return on board to gear up for snorkeling. The area where we’ll do the activity is 2 to 5 meters deep.
--:--
We will swim around the bay where we can observe marine fauna, such as sea turtles, Tintoreras sharks, fish, and possibly rays.
11:45
We’ll head back to the boat to return to the island’s port, where a vehicle will be waiting to take us to the town.
Â
Â
12:00
We will visit the town and then have lunch at a local restaurant to enjoy the daily menu.
Â
Â
12:40
The naturalist guide will assign a meeting point and give you a few minutes to enjoy the scenery. Then, we’ll board a vehicle to take us to the next visit point.
Â
13:00
We’ll head to the flamingo pool, where we’ll get off the vehicle to observe and photograph these specimens.
Â
13:15
We will then disembark at the Arnaldo Tupiza breeding center to learn about the conservation efforts of the Galapagos National Park. Here you will be able to observe the successful tortoise repatriation project.
Â
14:15
We’ll head back to the island’s main port, where our guide will bid us farewell and give us the ferry boarding tickets that will take us back to Santa Cruz at 3:00 PM. Remember, this journey takes two hours.
